I always have a difficult time buying clothes for men. I like to buy for myself, or my girl friends. I struggle to find unique items. Homage.com is a great site for quirky, fun t-shirts and more.

So if you are looking for a t-shirt that isn’t your run-of-the-mill generic, check out this site.

Last year I gave you some great personalized gift ideas for Christmas presents. One of my favorites was the Taylor Crafts Personalized Cutting Board. I have a wedding coming up this weekend and decided a great gift would be the personalized cutting board. I had a design proof from Taylor two days after my order.

And here is the finished product! I am so pleased with the result!

And, I have some exciting news for you! During my conversation with Tony and Belinda at Taylor Crafts Engraved, I told them that I had blogged about them before and they offered to give you, my dear readers, a ten percent discount on your order! I would like to point out that this was after I paid full price. Although, I do have another wedding coming up . . . So, be sure and check out their store on etsy, and use the code AVGCONSUMER for the discount.
In addition to cutting boards, they carry humidors, slate signs, leather cigar cases, journals, custom signs, and chopping blocks. You can choose from a wide variety of designs, and type of wood. They will even custom make a logo for you for an additional $10. The entire process for me was about three weeks from the time I placed the order until it arrived in the mail. I’m sure depending on the season it may take a little longer.
A great personalized gift, which I know my bride and groom will be thrilled with.

The husband of one of my dear friends (who I also consider a dear friend) had the app Action Movie FX on his iPhone and took great delight in blowing his wife and me up all weekend while I was staying at their house.

The app is easy enough for anyone to use. First, you need to record at least five seconds of video on your iPhone. Next, you decide if you want the object to be blown up, smashed by a car, or demolished by a rock. Once you have completed your action movie, you can watch over and over again and giggle like a little schoolgirl at the site of someone you know getting blown away. It’s a fun app that is entertaining for everyone. And free. And probably good therapy.

This time of year I start craving icebox pies. By summer I crave ice cream, or just ice. But when it starts getting warmer, there is just something comforting about an icebox pie. I found this yummy recipe on the Pillsbury site.
French Silk Chocolate Pie
1 box Pillsbury® refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on box
3 oz unsweetened chocolate, cut into pieces
1 cup butter, softened (do not use margarine)
1/2 cup sweetened whipped cream
Chocolate curls, if desired
