Personalized Clothes Hanger

January 24th, 2012

Have you seen these adorable custom hangers? They are mainly advertised to be used by the bride to hang her wedding dress, but they would make a great addition to your own closet or as a gift for anyone.

There are a number of vendors on Etsy that sell these hangers. I’m going to just list a few of the ones I think are well made, with good seller rating on Etsy. As with everything on Etsy, I think if you want a particular color hanger, or to add anything else to this, most sellers are happy to do anything you want.

The above is from Chipper Designs and is priced at $20.

This one is from Erica May Made and sells for $26.  Note the pearl accents.

I think for $9.99 these would make a great bridesmaid gift. Sold by thepaperynook.

Handcrafted Affairs sells the above for $23.

Two Broads Design lets you pick the color of the wire and ribbon for $15.

I hope that gives you some ideas. There are over a hundred pages of these type of hangers so you are bound to find exactly what you want if you look long enough.

App of the Week: Pimp Your Screen

January 23rd, 2012

Hate the name. Love the app. I use Pimp Your Screen mainly for shelves for my app icons – or to be more technical – the home screen. Here are some samples of a large selection of wallpaper to choose from:

It allows you to preview how the screen will look with app icons. The app is pretty good about updating with new selections almost daily. They also had some really cute Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween wallpapers. For .99 cents, you can make your iPhone more unique than just a plain screen. I always get asked what I am using when people see my iPhone home screen. I like to be fun and different. I am fun and different, oh, and drop dead gorgeous, in my mind.

Glam Alert: Kerasal Foot Ointment

January 19th, 2012

Yeah, I said it, foot ointment. Sounds like it’s for old people, right? Well, we all know I’m old. But this is for soft heels. I know I have blogged before about my ped-pro, and the Vaseline cream on the little footsies. But this year, between rushing around with Christmas, and then getting sick, I must admit I neglected my heels a smidge. To the point where I had two deep cracks in each heel. Wah! They didn’t hurt but they were cracked and dry. My manicurist/pedicurist/wonder woman recommended Kerasal Foot Ointment.

I found mine at CVS for about $10. Not in the beauty section, or the lotion section, but in the old people foot ortho/ointment section. Nonetheless, I purchased it and went on my merry way.  It works. After just a few nights the cracks are all filled in and happy again.

Wonder if my son thinks it’s okay if I do glam alerts on old people stuff?
