A few years ago one of my dearest friends gave me a beautiful Swarovski Christmas ornament. Every year now when I get it out to put on the tree it makes me so happy. It was so extravagant, and I didn’t deserve it, but golly-gee I’m thrilled to have it. I treasure it. I treasure all my Christmas ornaments. Each one tells a story or reminds me of a certain period of my life. My tree is one of those that take a lifetime to put together. Here’s a pic:

I think it’s the prettiest tree out there. And my Swarovski ornament is in there! Can you find it? I call this my thousand points of light tree because it has 1000 lights!

I think the cutting board would be a great gift for the cook or the griller. Heck, the platter would be great for the griller too. Get one of each! I am thankful for all branches of the military that protect my freedom.  For all who are currently serving and who have ever served.  I sincerely appreciate your service and sacrifice. I live in your honor.

I am thankful there are police and fire personnel to protect my neighborhood and me. I am thankful for my safety.

I am thankful for the paramedics who rush to accident scenes and save people’s lives on a daily basis.

I am thankful for all the volunteers who work in hospitals or food banks and food kitchens, shelters, rape crisis centers, Red Cross, and many, many others. I know your work often goes unnoticed. I appreciate you and am thankful.

I am thankful that I am an American, a Texan, a Christian, and very grateful I live in a democracy that allows me the freedom that we all so often take for granted. Some are not as lucky. I am thankful I was born in America. Thankful for my freedom of speech and religion. My heart is full of all the many things I have to be thankful for.  Happy Thanksgiving!
