One of my favorite catalogs for years and years has been Soft Surroundings. Then one of my favorite online shops was softsurroundings.com. Now, fortunately for me, a Soft Surroundings store has opened near me, so I can finally go in person to see all the beautiful things I have admired for years through the catalog and online. It is an online clothing store for women, but it also has some great home decor and bedding too.
So whether you want to do catalog shopping, online shopping, or visit one of the stores, you need to check out Soft Surroundings if you haven’t before.
Here is just a sampling of some of their clothing items.
So whether you need dressy, casual, or lounge/sleepwear, Soft Surroundings has some great, quality pieces.
AND – there’s an online outlet store too! Be sure and check out their sale merchandise on the outlet tab at the top of the site, or go directly to softsurroundingsoutlet.com

Whew! That is some product title, huh? Don’t tell my husband, but I got him the Magnasonic MAG-MM176K AM/FM Projection Clock Radio with Dual Alarm, Auto Time Set/Restore, Temperature Display, and Battery Backup for Christmas. It’s really a gift for me more than him. He just wants something that buzzes and wakes him up. But lately we have had the power going out in our house due to storms, construction, whatever (not lack of paying bills!), I have finally had it with constantly resetting the alarm clock. So I immediately went online to amazon.com and found an alarm clock that not only had a battery backup, but also automatically reset the time! YAY!
From Magnasonic:
- Automatically Sets the Time/Date & Restores Alarm Settings after Power loss
- Projects the Time on Your Wall or Ceiling; Dual Alarms with Optional Weekend Skip
- AM/FM Radio with Digital Station Display; Temperature & Calendar Date Display
- Connect Your iPod or MP3 Player; Blue Backlit 3.6″ LCD Screen
- Wake to Radio/Buzzer/Time Projection
And it will project the time on the wall or ceiling! Cannot wait until he opens this so I can play with it!

If you want to scare your friends, family, or pets, get this fun free app with lots of choices of sounds. My mother-in-law used to have a dog that went crazy every time I played a cat screeching sound!
From the developer:
Hey buddy, wanna scare the guy in the next cube? Any interest in making your roommate almost wet themselves? Always wanted to be able to control a bunch of spooky Halloween sounds remotely? Well the future is here my friend.
With Halloween Sounds Pro you can play endless pranks on friends and enemies alike.
With the Timer Trickeration option you pick a sound (there’s 15 of ’em so you find just the right one) and set the timer. Then just hide your device and walk away. When the timer hits zero… bingo… the scary sound plays.
But wait, it gets even better. Bluetooth Bufoonery mode lets you control a second device remotely through Bluetooth. Hide one device and click away on the other from a safe distance. Now that’s Halloween fun! Only one of the devices needs Halloween Sounds Pro, the device to be controlled remotely can have Free Halloween Sounds installed. Just fire up the app on both devices and click on the Bluetooth button. Once you see the nearby devices menu be sure to only pick a device on one of the menus. If you pick on both the devices will get confused.
Plus you get all the functions of Free Halloween Sounds. 15 spooky sounds and Spooky Soundtrack which plays a creepy soundtrack and adds scary sounds on top of it. The perfect soundtrack for handing out treats, or great mood music for a costume party.
Sounds Include:
Witches Laugh
Flying Bats
Growling Monster
Creaky Door
Chainsaw
Howling Wolf
Squeaky Floor
Deadly Scream
Evil Laugh
Bubbling Cauldron
Spooky Ghost
Crying Cat
Bloody Shriek
Croaking Frog
Ominous Chime
Creepy Music
