I love candles. I think they help me to relax. While I work or blog, I light a candle, or turn on my Scentsy burner, and listen to zen music. It may be my imagination, but it seems to keep me focused and calm no matter what the chaos is around me.
A recent trip to see my BFF, we shopped at the cutest gift store. I love to go to little gift shops that are crammed packed with sussies. Have I explained the word “sussies” to you before? Sussies are little surprises. My mom started using the term years ago, and now everyone I know uses it. She may not have invented it, but in my world she did. There is nothing more fun than someone telling you they can’t wait to see you and have a sussie for you!
Anyway, back to the story. So while in this charming gift store, I discovered Swan Creek Candles. My new favorite candle is “Red Currant”. Actually, it has always been my dear friend Sally’s favorite scent, and when I found it, I purchased it for her. But I can never get someone something without a little something for myself. Don’t tell Sally, but I also bought the cute bird candle above, in vanilla pound cake. Love it in my kitchen, because it smells like I am baking, you know, without the calories!
They also carry jar candles in 6, 12, and 24 ounce sizes. I have the Red Currant in the jar, and also the Spiced Orange and Cinnamon. All the candles are made of soy wax, so you don’t get the black soot on your walls or blinds. They are really strong candles. Not gag you strong, but smell up your whole house wonderfully.
Please check out their website. You can email them for stores in your area, or order directly. I just ordered some of their tarts and plan on using them in my Scentsy burner. I’ll let you know how they work out.
What is your favorite scent for your home? Leave me a note in the comment section.
