Bean and Ham Soup

  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 6 oz. Canadian style bacon, diced
  • 3 cups canned white beans, drained
  • ¼ cup water, as needed to add moisture
  • ¼ cup unpacked brown sugar
  • ½ cup uncooked onion, finely chopped

Brown ham and onions in pot, add remaining ingredients and enough water to cover then let simmer for a hour or so. Makes 10 servings a ½ cups each.
