App of the Week: Runkeeper

March 10th, 2014

Previously, I blogged about the Map My Run app that my friend Debbie uses and loves. Today I’m going to tell you about an app that my friend Sally likes better. They are both free, so feel free to try both of them out and let me know which one you prefer! They are both great for using your smartphone GPS to track your exercise and give you distance, calories burned, and more. What’s most important really is that you are up and doing some sort of physical activity no matter what your age!

From the developer:

Track your runs, walks, bike rides, hikes, and more using the GPS in your iPhone.

Glam Alert: E.L.F. Lip Exfoliator

March 6th, 2014

I picked up E.L.F. (Eyes, Lip, Face – love the brand name) lip exfoliator from Target a few months ago. At first I didn’t think I liked it, but figured it was only $3, so I wasn’t too upset. Then I realized it’s not really a lip scrub, which is what I was using it as. And. That. Hurt. My. Lips. I was sort of applying it hard, like a scrub, which I don’t think is the way to use it, because the product itself is hard and course. Once I just started using it as night like a lip balm I started liking it. If I hadn’t gotten good results regardless of how I was applying it originally, I wouldn’t have kept it up. But I did, and realized ,as with most things, less is more. So apply like lip balm, leave it on overnight, and soft kissable lippies!

Website of the Week: nomorerack.com

March 5th, 2014

This is a great site (and there’s an app for it too) where they have outstanding daily deals. Did you hear me say OUTSTANDING?

nomorerack.com has great deals on tablets, home goods, jewelry, and electronics, just to name a few. I first heard of it when my friend Debbie send me an adorable cubic zirconia bracelet that she purchased for $10. She also told me she has ordered bedding for herself personally and thought it was really good quality. I thought the cute bracelet she sent me was a great buy at $10.

I had my carpets cleaned last week and the technician told me that he ordered iPads for his children for Christmas at a great price.

I will say you need to know what you are buying before you purchase. Don’t think all deals are great deals. Like today when I was perusing the site, there is a Michael Kors purse for $199, and trust me it’s the same price you pay at the store. Now, the added benefit here is it is almost always free shipping, and no sales tax, so it’s cheaper in that sense, but not 30% off, as the site claims.

The tablets are a great price though. Not everyone needs an iPad. For under $100, it’s a great deal for someone who just wants to surf the internet, or a child under the age of 12 who doesn’t care about being cool yet. Or maybe that’s under the age of 10? 8? 5? Who knows these days!

So before purchasing, check the market, and make sure you are getting a good bargain, and then shop til you drop!
