Costco Charisma Towels

May 27th, 2014

My new favorite bath towels are from Costco! I’m not kidding when I tell you that these really are the most luxurious, absorbent bath towels I’ve had to date. And believe me, I have purchased some really high-end towels over the years. My favorite for many years was the JC Penny brand, but they started going downhill quality wise a few years ago, much like the company itself, but I digress.

They are super thick and so soft! So far I purchased the Gun Metal Gray and the Ivory. Ivory isn’t a true white, FYI, more like what I would call beige or linen. Costco calls the tan color above Linen, so what do I know?

If you purchase directly at the store, you will get more bang for your buck. I purchased the bath towels separate. I always get three: two for me (hair and body) and one for hubby. The hand towels and washcloths came in a set of two each for $9.99, and the towels were $6.99 each. If you do the math, which I did for you, that’s $30.96. Online Costco sells a six-piece set (which would be minus the third bath towel) for $36.99. However, now through June 22, 2014, they have a $6 off manufacturer discount, making the six-piece set $30.99. I’d still make the trip to Costco and save yourself an extra $6.99. Or get the extra bath towel for that price. Am I making sense?

Now, to recap, if you know anyone who is getting married this year, moving into a new house soon, or just has been married a long time and is desperate need of some new towels, they will love you forever if you gift them with these towels. And they are so inexpensive (dare I say, cheap) that you can pick up some for yourself too!

Glam Alert: Silk Elements Shea Butter With Olive Oil Hand Cream

May 22nd, 2014

On a recent trip to Sally’s Beauty Supply, I was in line behind a woman who was asking the clerk about a hand cream that would work on her dry hands and cuticles. She said she worked for the TSA at the airport and was constantly washing her hands, and was in desperate need for something.

The sales clerk recommended Silk Elements Shea Butter With Olive Oil, and actually got her own tube out to let the woman try it.  Well, I wasn’t going to just stand there and not get a sample too!

Sometimes timing is everything, right?

So the clerk gave me a little dab of the hand cream and a little goes a long way.  It is a nice thick emollient, which has a pleasant scent. The tube is .3 ounces, so perfect for your purse, but pick up several, because you will want this on your nightstand, by your sink, in your purse, everywhere. AND did I mention the best part? It’s about $3.50 a tube.

Okay, maybe the best part is really that it moisturizes your hands, without leaving any greasy residue. So you can lather up and go on with your business, without leaving a trail of grease behind.

The Silk Elements Shea Butter with Olive Oil will be hard to find unless you are a woman of color, so you need to either ask the clerk to help you locate it at Sally’s Beauty Supply, or look in that area. Hence why it has been hidden from me for so long!

Trust me, and purchase this hand cream! Oh, and because the scent is more of a clean, spa-like scent, the guys will love it too!

Website of the Week: themastersuite.net

May 21st, 2014

I am a huge fan of pajamas. I love nothing better than coming home and putting my pajamas on. Except when I wake up and want to just stay in my pajamas. Best. Feeling. Ever. At my core and pretty lazy, and a big ol’ slob!

I love the Allison Rhea brand, and have blogged before about a website that sold the brand. However, that site always seems to be out of stock. There is a great guy who sells them at First Monday in Canton (you Texas girls know what that is) who also has a website, so those of you who can’t make it there can purchase online at themastersuite.net.

I love the Allison Rhea brand because they are sized very comfortable. Meaning I can buy a large and complain that it is just soooo big on me I should really buy a medium. Don’t you love that feeling? And after years and years they hold up great. I love the flannel for winter, and the long sleeve cotton for spring and fall, and right now I’m smack in the middle of the short sleeve cotton. I also adore the nightshirts!

I can pair with my yoga pants and hit the store and look fashionable. No one knows it’s a nightshirt! So I’m comfortable and happy, and the world thinks I’m snazzy.

You can’t beat the price either!

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

May 20th, 2014

You are going to love me today boys and girls!

We all know about Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, right? And that it gets rid of marks on floors, walls, and more? Well, it’s the “MORE”, Imma gonna tell you about today!

This is the driver’s seat in my car. I have used every cleaner known to man, and still cannot get rid of the clothes stains that always seem to leave their mark on my seat.  And no, I do not work in construction.

This is the same seat after using one Magic Eraser sponge on said leather seat.

And this is the same leather seat after using the second Magic Eraser. Turns out I don’t have to have my upholstery recovered after all.

So, for a few bucks, about 10 minutes, and a little elbow grease, you too can have clean leather seats again!

You’re welcome.
